This piece is part of a greater collection of poems I have called Letters To Life, a group of poems all written in the style of a letter. While I do not write often, these letters are written when I feel the need to get something off my chest and onto a page. This poem in particular is about my experience with love in a more abstract sense because I firmly believe the impact such a strong, beautiful emotion can have on our world is impossible to overstate.

Dear love,
I am writing this letter to thank you. While you have not yet landed on my door step, it is when I think of you that I am made aware of the beauty of my surroundings. The way friends rally behind you, no matter the odds. The way, under your influence, the world appears to regain the colour it once had when I was little and knew only about its kindness. So, thank you. Even without your presence in my life, your existence has still managed to shape me for the better.
Love,
Yours truly
